VENICE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
16 March- 7 April
The exhibition will be introduced by a studies day on the theme, from 3pm.
An exhibition springing from a broad project born from journalist Emanuele Confortin’s important contribution, recounting an exceptional and also emblematic story at the same time, drawn from an ancient and multicultural country, nowadays devastated and divided: the country of Syrian-Christian painter Matti al-Kanun, an Iraqui refugee whose works have been mutilated by Isis.
The now restored artworks will be flanked by photographs and a documentary made following the artist’s family.
