LEONARDO AND HIS GREAT SCHOOL

From 31 May to 25 August.

Complementing the nearby exhibition at the Galleries of the Accademia dedicated to the Florentine genius for the occasion of his five-hundredth death anniversary, this exhibition focuses not only on work by the great Master, but especially on the extraordinary paintings by his followers – including Giampietrino, Marco d’Oggiono, Cesare da Sesto, Salaì, Bernardino Luini – and their dialogue with Leonardo’s art poetics.

In total 25 artworks, including the superb Maddalena discinta, which Vincian scholar Carlo Pedretti attributed to the collaboration between Leonardo and his pupil Giampietrino. Curator, Nicola Barbatelli.
