Presentation | A collection of Italian modern art

Thanks to a long-term deposit (from 9 February 2019) a nucleus of artworks by some among the major masters from the Italian 1900s is taking its place within the already prestigious permanent collection. It features thirty-two works, from a private collection, signed by Massimo Campigli, Carlo Carrà, Giacomo Manzù, Ottone Rosai, Scipione and Mario Sironi, created between the Twenties and the Fifties, displayed at an exhibition by curator Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti in 1953 at Palazzo Strozzi.
This same collection was to be exhibited later on at the showcase which inaugurated the Modern Art Gallery in Turin in 1959 and on a tour in American, European and Japanese museums.
