ROMAN OPALKA – MARIA TERESA SARTORI

This project (from 4 May to 20 July 2019) brings two artists together in two locations, Milan and Venice: French-Polish artist Roman Opalka, who died in 2011, and Venetian artist Mariateresa Sartori.

In the guise of an ideal dialogue and on the theme of the passage of time – represented at the Milan retrospective dedicated to Opalka – Mariateresa Sartori, linked to the artist by deep friendship, presents a nucleus of works detecting the subtle and invisible textures determined by our movement through space and time. They are drawings and photographs revolving around the imposing “The time of sound” installation, in which the artist has visually translated the sound of sea waves in real time, a sound which will resonate with the late artist’s voice.
