A Venetian collection

Thanks to a recent agreement with Intesa SanPaolo, this Venetian foundation is hosting the Venice Cassa di Risparmio bank’s prestigious collection, a corpus of artworks, furniture, antique books, sculptures and coins, testimonials of Venetian history and art from the 16th to the 20th century.

The new section, laid out on the third floor of the picture gallery in a panoramic area renewed by architect Michele De Lucchi, presents due paintings by Canaletto, the great cartoon for Paradise by Domenico Tintoretto and the one for the Last Judgement by Giambattista Tiepolo among its most prestigious works. They are flanked by artworks by great masters of the Veneto school such as Caffi and Ciardi and sculptures by Arturo Martini and Alberto Viani. Standing out among the book material, is the “Biblioteca veneziana” a corpus of over three thousand books, which will remain available to visitors at the foundation library.
