COWS BY THE WATER – ALBERT OEHLEN

“Cows by the Water”, the monographic show dedicated to Albert Oehlen (1954, Krefeld, Germany) presents, until 6 January,  over 80 works including some lesser-known ones, created between the 1980s and today. The works brought together come from the Pinault Collection as well as from other major private collections and international museums.

By curator Caroline Bourgeois, this solo show Ð the largest ever dedicated to this German artist (Krefeld 1954), an important exponent of contemporary painting Ð presents a selection of about 85 works, from the best known to the least known, created from the 1980s to our day, from the Pinault Collection and important private collections and international museums.

The circuit along the salons of the palace winds along a non-chronological, novel layout timed by the different periods and genres dealt with by the artist, underlining the central role of music, ever a metaphor of his method of work.
