DRAWING FROM LIFE: TIEPOLO, LONGHI, GUARDI

Reopening  museum (from Friday to Sunday) from Friday 31st July

Born from the Venice City Museums Foundation and Save Venice partnership, this exhibition brings together 64 restored drawings, a part of three albums by as many Venetian Eighteenth century masters: Giambattista Tiepolo, Pietro Longhi and Francesco Guardi.

They are studies and sketches functional for the work of the artists themselves and their workshops, drawn over the years, a precious testimonial of the three artists’ art and creative processes, but also of the life and features of the town and its inhabitants.

Thanks to Save Venice, long-term restoration work, not yet completed, has been started on them, allowing the admiration of such artworks today for a short period.
