Emilio Vedova di/by Georg Baselitz

On the birth centenary of this great Venetian master, the Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation is presenting (until 3 November) this exhibition, born to seal the deep and lasting friendship between two artists since the early Sixties in a Berlin divided by the wall, where the Venetian artist lived for about two years, creating one of his most emblematic works in 1964, the Absurdes Berliner Tagebuch.

Georg Baselitz, as a curator in this case, has selected for this extraordinary occasion some works which he considers particularly representative: they are two series on canvas (teleri) by Emilio Vedova, all strictly in black and white, belonging to as many significant moments of his long and complex artistic journey, the 1950s/60s and the 1980s.

The catalogue for Emilio Vedova di/by Georg Baselitz is published by Marsilio.
