From 11 May, until 24 November 2019.
This is the first and largest showcase dedicated to this artist of Greek origins who found his second home in Italy. By curator Germano Celant, the director of the Prada Foundation, who had presented him at the time in his collective exhibition curated for the 1972 Biennale, he is showing some seventy works from 1958 to 2016 from international collections and museums.
His circuit reconstructs the artistic and exhibition history of Kounellis (Piraeus 1936 – Rome 2017), highlighting the fundamental developments of his poetics and trying to establish a dialogue between these artworks and the eighteenth-century rooms in this Venetian venue.
The exhibition is rounded off by a volume dedicated to the artist published by the Prada Foundation.
