From 10 May to 20 October.

An exhibition paying tribute to this great French painter and sculptor, who marked innovation in Twentieth century art. The inspiration for its curators Sophie Webel and Frédéric Jaeger are two famous exhibitions held in Venice which marked the artist’s itinerary: the exhibition at Palazzo Grassi in 1964 and the one set up in the French pavilion at the Biennale in 1984, meaningful stages chosen by Dubuffet himself to present his most recent works in an exclusive way.

The two famous Célébration du sol and Hourloupe cycles, the latter a series deemed as to be the core of this master’s research, developed between 1962 and 1974, are flanked by the equally famous Mires series produced in the Eighties, where his painting exits its physical limits.

A selection of drawings, gouaches and documents completes the circuit.
