Alice Pasquini, "Beyond the Wall: Art and Context" online workshop of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

Alice Pasquini, aka Alicè, street artist, illustrator and Roman set designer, will be the protagonist of the workshop Oltre il muro: arte e contesto, which will take place entirely remotely on the Zoom platform, during six days between 20 and 29 November, the third stage of the Project SuperaMenti Pratiche artistic for a new present, a cycle of four free workshops with which the Peggy Guggenheim Collection , together with Swatch Art Peace Hotel, dialogues with the under-25s.

This is the first time that the Venetian museum has carried out a workshop completely online, to keep alive, today more than ever, the contact with its audience, and with generation Z, to which the project is addressed. As always, in preparation for working days, the workshop, free of charge, upon reservation until seats last, will be anticipated by two meetings open to everyone, always on Zoom, on 16 and 19 November from 5.45 pm to 6.30 pm

Overruns. Artistic practices for a new present at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

Overruns. Artistic practices for a new present is part of the collaboration, born in 2018, between the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and ASviS, the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development that deals with promoting the 17 Objectives of the United Nations 2030 agenda, touching in particular on goal 4, quality education.

Starting from a reflection on urban transformation and recovery through the study of different techniques and the design of one or more works of public art, the workshop intends, in the first place, to examine what it means to "do" street art, in what forms street art manifests itself and what has been the evolution of this artistic language from the 1950s to today.

Breakdown of working groups at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection online workshop

The participants, divided into working groups, will thus familiarize themselves with the related painting techniques, such as stencils and the use of spray cans, and during the various moments of encounter, always virtual, they will become familiar with the techniques and tools of work.

From these meetings, and from the active dialogue with the artist, they will develop different paths to design a work, be it imaginary or digital, which must not only be an artistic expression, but also speak to citizens, tell a story and have a creative public function.

Free participation

Participation is free and registration is required, subject to availability.

The workshops are preceded by a series of meetings open to everyone on the Zoom platform, for a direct dialogue with the artist.
