CASA DEI TRE OCI
16 March – 26 August
First great retrospective, ten years from his demise, dedicated to the photographer who was able to link his name to Venice more than any other.
Promoted by the Fondazione di Venezia and curated by Denis Curti, the exhibition highlights all the breadth and international level of the author’s work, through 200 mostly vintage photographs, establishing him among the most significant photographers of our times.
Beginning from his origins and from chance, which both determined Roiter’s first approach to photography right in the midst of the neorealist period, the circuit recounts his novel and amazing imagery which depicts Venice and the lagoon, but also his travels to New Orleans, Belgium, Portugal, Andalusia and Brazil.
The exhibition is rounded-off by video screenings, spectacular enlargements and about twenty original books.
