Seventy years after his demise, the Venice City Museums Foundation is rendering tribute with this exhibition to one of the top interpreters of Venetian avant-garde, the artist later recognised among precursors of modern art in Italy.
The exhibition circuit, laid out on the second floor of the museum, develops around a few masterpieces by this author, now preserved at Ca’ Pesaro and created in the course of a brief but particularly intense artistic career, ending dramatically on the island of Burano.
A nucleus of significant artworks, gathered and held in the Cariverona Foundation collections, are accompanying his Venetian work.
The exhibition is enriched by a catalogue published by Marsilio (Venice, 2018), with texts by the curators Luca Massimo Barbero and Elisabetta Barisoni.
