Plessi “Under Water”: exhibition extended until April 2 to T Fondaco

T Fondaco dei Tedeschi, the address of choice for quality experiences in the heart of Venice, is glad to extend until April 2, 2017 the site-specific installation designed by Fabrizio Plessi.

Building on the success of the public registered since the inauguration October 1, 2016, “Under Water” event pavilion will occupy the top floor of the building again for several weeks, allowing residents and travelers to immerse themselves in the special atmosphere created by the artist . Consists of 60 suspended screens, the installation presents images of mosaic fragments that float under water, while the notes composed for the installation by Michael Nyman mark the fluid movement of the elements.

Here the water, one of the figures most characteristic of the artist’s work, not only represents the passage of time and memories, but also the attempt to unite the fragments of the mosaic to reveal them in the eyes of the observer in all its completeness and Beauty . Uniting past and present, combining images of symbolic value and high-tech offices, the installation offers the visitor a memory of the East but also of Venice, which was a commercial and cultural bridge with the capital Constantinople.

“This extension makes us particularly proud because it confirms the existing demand in Venice for a cultural calendar of events joints throughout the year,” said Roberto Meneghesso, vice president of DFS Italy. “Our commitment is to allow the Fondaco to once again become a place where converge and intertwine culture and commerce, secular and contemporary traditions, local and international visitors.”

Free admission until April 2, 2017 Every day from 10 to 20
